Kids birthday party venues in Manchester compared, with prices per child

Every venue on this list will tell you it is the best place for a birthday. This page does something more useful: it puts twelve of them next to each other with the price per child, the minimum number of children, the ages each one really suits, and the thing you only find out on the day. Prices were checked in September 2026 and change often, so treat them as a guide and confirm before you book.

The short version

Under 8: soft play or Play Factore. 8 to 11: Flip Out, Total Ninja, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, Hollywood Bowl, Treetop Golf. 12 to 16: a private suite at FOMO Lounge, Chill Factore, the Crystal Maze if two adults will play. Cheapest per child: Hollywood Bowl from £15, a soft play package, or FOMO at £20 with a three-course meal included. Smallest minimum: FOMO at 3 children; most others want 8 to 12.

1. FOMO Lounge, Northern Quarter edge

Cost: £20 a child all-in. Minimum: 3. Ages: best for 10 to 16, younger children with a parent in the room. Three hours in a private suite with a PS5 on a big screen, a pool or snooker table, darts and table tennis in the large suites, their own playlist, and a main, a side, a soft drink and a dessert each brought to the door. Alcohol-free, staff at the desk throughout, free parking. Bring the cake. The catch: there is no party host running games. The room is theirs and they run it, which is exactly why teenagers pick it and why a six-year-old's party still needs a parent in the room. Kids and teens parties at FOMO.

2. Flip Out, Trafford

Cost: about £27 to £29 a child for the VIP party (off-peak and peak). Minimum: usually 10. Ages: 6 to 12. Two hours of trampolines and the adventure park, food, thirty minutes in a party room, invites and party bags. The catch: grip socks and waivers for every child, and it is loud enough that the birthday child may not hear happy birthday.

3. Play Factore, Trafford City

Cost: packages work out at roughly £28 to £32 a child, with a £125 deposit. Minimum: 10 to 12, booked at least a week ahead. Ages: 3 to 9. Two hours in the biggest soft play in the North West, a private party room and a host. The catch: it is the busiest venue on this list at weekends, and the minimum makes a small party expensive.

4. Total Ninja, Trafford Park

Cost: around £26 to £28 a child depending on the day and package. Minimum: varies by package. Ages: 7 to 14. An hour on the ninja obstacle course, then food. The catch: it suits a sporty group; the child who does not want to climb has a long hour.

5. Hollywood Bowl, Printworks and Ashton

Cost: from £15 a child, the premium party from about £18. Minimum: 6, the premium party 10 to 12. Ages: 6 to 14. An hour of bowling, a meal, unlimited squash and arcade tickets. The catch: the premium slots are weekend daytime only, and the lanes either side are open to the public.

6. LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, Trafford Centre

Cost: £22.50 a child. Minimum: 9. Ages: 4 to 9. Two hours with a party room, a host, a LEGO character and a brick to take home. The catch: adults pay too, and older children are done with it by about ten.

7. SEA LIFE Manchester, Trafford Centre

Cost: about £25 a child with a party host. Minimum: check on booking. Ages: 4 to 9. A guided walk through the aquarium and a party room. The catch: it is calm rather than energetic, which is either the point or the problem depending on the child.

8. Chill Factore, Trafford City

Cost: from £25 a child, or from £300 for ten children and two adult helpers. Minimum: 10, maximum 30. Ages: 8 to 16. Real snow, sledging or the snow park, then food in the party hub. The catch: warm clothes for everyone and a session that runs to a fixed timetable.

9. Treetop Adventure Golf, Printworks

Cost: a round from about £9 a child; the kids' party package with a reserved table, pizza, ice cream and a host is priced on enquiry. Ages: 5 to 12. The catch: eighteen holes takes a while with ten children, and it is in the middle of a public venue.

10. The Crystal Maze LIVE Experience, Deansgate

Cost: £65 a person for a party, minimum 8. Ages: 9 and over, and every team of under-18s needs two paying adults playing with them. The catch: it is the most expensive on the list by a distance, and the adults are in the maze too, which teenagers may or may not want.

11. A cinema party

Cost: the big chains price party packages on enquiry; a weekend morning family screening plus a meal afterwards is the cheap version at about £5 to £10 a ticket. Ages: 5 to 12. The catch: two hours of sitting still is not a party for most eight-year-olds, and there is nowhere to open presents.

12. Soft play near you

Cost: most local soft play centres run a two-hour package with food and a room at £12 to £20 a child. Minimum: usually 8 to 10. Ages: 2 to 7. The catch: the good weekend slots go a month out, and it is the party every child in the class has already been to.

How to choose

Count the children first: under eight and the minimum numbers rule out half the list. Then ask what the birthday child wants to be doing at the peak of the party. If the answer is bouncing, climbing or sledging, pick the venue built for it. If the answer is being with their friends with nobody organising them, they have outgrown the party host, and a room of their own is the present. Last, add up the real cost: the per-child price, the minimum, the adults, the parking and the party bags. A £15 party for twelve with a £10 parking charge and adult tickets is not a £15 party.

Questions parents ask

Can we bring a cake? Everywhere on this list allows a birthday cake; almost nowhere allows other outside food. Do we have to stay? Soft play, trampoline and snow venues want an adult present. At FOMO under-16s can be dropped off once a parent has given consent by phone or WhatsApp, and staff are at the desk the whole time. What about children who do not eat the party food? Ask about the menu before you pay the deposit; FOMO's kitchen does burgers, chicken, loaded fries, waffles and shakes with halal and vegetarian options, and you choose on the day.
